CHESHIRE CAT NARROWBOAT EXPERIENCE COURSE

Cheshire Cat Summer Breeze

This course is for: complete beginners, novices or those wishing to gain more confidence, brush up on their boating skills, kick bad habits, or going on a narrowboat holiday. This course is run both as mixed groups and Ladies Only days.

What you will learn: water safety, handling a narrowboat on the canal, mooring, ropes and knots, navigating through locks, bridges and tunnels, map reading, canal etiquette, considerate boating.

One day – £110 per person

CHESHIRE CAT LIFE AFLOAT EXPERIENCE COURSE

Cheshire Cat Training Courses

This course is for: complete beginners and novices, particularly if you are thinking of buying a boat, a share in a boat, or for those wishing to learn narrowboating skills at a more leisurely pace

What you will learn: All the subjects covered in the one day course, plus advice on choosing, buying and owning a boat, living aboard, moorings, licences, basic maintenance and costs.

The course includes an overnight stay on the training boat, with the opportunity to cook aboard.

Two days – £195 per person

OWN BOAT EXPERIENCE COURSE

This course is for: anyone wanting to do any of the above courses, but on their own boat.

*Sorry, we do not carry out training on traditional stern boats, as there is insufficient space on the stern for all to stand safely, and the instructor reserves the right to refuse training on unsuitable vessels.

OWN BOAT DIESEL ENGINE MAINTENANCE COURSE

This course is for: boat owners wishing to learn to carry out their own basic servicing. Our qualified diesel instructor will come to your boat and supervise you while you learn to service your engine.

What you will learn: anything you want to ask the engineer about your own boat!

Half day – £85 plus materials

*Courses are 9am to approx 5pm each day (2 day overnight courses with a stay on the boat can be flexible). Ratio is maximum 3 students to 1 instructor and the course handbook is given to each student. There are no exams.
